The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Thursday it was responding to a Caruthersville address where a wanted man was potentially barricaded inside a house, according to KFVS12.
MSHP identified the subject as a wanted Caruthersville man โ no additional name or charges were released as of the initial report. Whether he was actually inside the residence hadn’t been confirmed at that point.
The situation
Caruthersville sits in Pemiscot County in Missouri’s Bootheel region. The agency hadn’t disclosed what the man was wanted for, and no injuries were reported in early coverage of the standoff.
Details were limited Thursday night. MSHP had not released the address, confirmed how long officers had been on scene, or said whether a SWAT team or crisis negotiators had been called in.
