Contestants at the Miss South Carolina pageant took the stage Thursday for the talent competition, one of the event’s most closely watched segments, according to WCIV.
The talent round is traditionally a weighted portion of the Miss South Carolina judging process — contestants perform original or prepared pieces ranging from vocal performances to dance and instrumental music. No scores or rankings from Thursday’s competition were immediately available.
The competition
Miss South Carolina is the state-level preliminary to the Miss America competition. Contestants who advance from the talent and other judging phases move closer to the title, which comes with a scholarship package and the chance to represent the state at the national level.
WCIV, the ABC affiliate covering the Lowcountry and surrounding areas, reported on Thursday’s talent segment without releasing individual contestant results. A winner hasn’t been announced yet.
