Copper One has kicked off a drilling program at its Majuba Hill property in Nevada โ one designed using artificial intelligence โ the company announced Sunday, June 29.
Majuba Hill sits in Pershing County, a district with a long history of copper extraction. Copper One hasn’t released drill-hole counts, target depths, or a budget figure for the current campaign.
Background
AI-assisted drill targeting has gained traction across the junior mining sector in recent years. The approach typically uses geological datasets โ historical assay results, geophysical surveys, structural mapping โ to rank drill targets by probability of hitting economic mineralization. Whether Copper One’s program draws on any or all of those inputs isn’t clear from what the company has disclosed so far.
Majuba Hill has seen exploration activity stretching back more than a century, and past operators documented copper, silver, and gold values across several zones on the property. Copper One has been working to advance the project but hasn’t published a resource estimate under current NI 43-101 or JORC standards โ at least not in what’s been made public to date.
No timeline for initial assay results or a follow-up drilling phase has been announced.
