Several artists, including country singer Martina McBride, have pulled out of the Great American State Fair scheduled in Washington, D.C. โ and President Trump is now floating a MAGA rally as a fallback. The event, billed as part of the Freedom 250 celebration, has shed performers faster than organizers have publicly acknowledged.
Trump’s suggestion came after the withdrawals left the lineup in doubt. No replacement acts have been announced. The White House hasn’t said when or whether a rally would be confirmed.
McBride is the most recognizable name among the artists who’ve walked away. She didn’t publicly explain her decision, according to NPR, which first reported the departures on Saturday, May 31.
The Great American State Fair was meant to be a centerpiece of the administration’s summer celebrations. Whether it goes forward in any form โ concert, rally, or otherwise โ hasn’t been settled.
