StateWiseNews tracks numbers that change — wages, tax rates, benefit limits, fees. Sometimes we get something wrong, or a state updates its figures before we do. When that happens, we fix it publicly.
How to report an error
Use the contact form with the page URL, the figure you believe is wrong, and a link to the official source (preferably a .gov page). We aim to review every report within 5 business days.
How we fix it
- We verify the correction against the official source.
- If the error is confirmed, we update the figure.
- We add a dated entry to the page’s changelog describing what changed.
What we will not do
- We do not silently change numbers. Every factual correction gets a changelog entry.
- We do not delete pages to hide errors. Incorrect pages are corrected, or if the topic is discontinued, marked as archived with a dated note.
- We do not accept paid corrections or corrections from parties with a financial interest without disclosing the request.
